I began my career in education in 2000, teaching both sixth and eighth grade English Language Arts in Clear Creek ISD. I then spent 10 years with Katy ISD, first teaching eighth grade Language Arts, and then ninth grade English I at Cinco Ranch High School. After earning my Master’s degree in Counseling in 2012, I worked as a School Counselor and also an Accommodations Coordinator for students with learning disabilities such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and ADD/ADHD at St. John XXIII College Preparatory High School in Katy.
As a veteran English teacher with 15 years’ experience teaching all levels of Language Arts at the middle and high school level, I tutor students needing assistance with reading and writing. I have also extended my tutoring services to elementary school students in grades 4 and 5. I am also a certified Academic Life Coach, and I love to incorporate what I have learned about organization, time management, and study skills into my sessions.
I find these reading, writing and academic coaching issues fun to tackle, because I believe there is always a solution. I’d love to help you discover one for your situation.
